I can’t believe it’s that time of the year already. The cosy knits, Chelsea boots and textured layering of the winter season seems to have passsed in a blink of an eye! I don’t know about you, but I’m happy to say goodbye to that freezing cold weather and welcome a little sunshine into my life, and wardrobe too. I’ve taken a stroll around London’s most fashion notorious streets to check out the spring collections of retail giants such as Topshop, Kurt Geiger, Zara and H&M to spot the upcoming trends. So if you want to avoid sore feet from traipsing miles around endless stores, here’s some fresh new trends you need to bag for Spring 2016.
Oxford Street & Convent Garden are home to some of the world’s largest and most exclusive fashion stores. No matter what time of day you decide to go, the streets are always jam packed with shoppers seeking out their latest buy. Even though the buildings don’t change (I mean of course they don’t they are made of bricks and water) the experience you have every time is completely different. Season merchandising has a huge part to play for this. With winter drawing to a close the festive cheer, pretty lights and Christmas decorations are packed away for another year as we welcome the glorious Spring! Here’s some of the trends I spotted;
Pretty Pastels
I absolutely adore these H&M mannequin displays. The fresh pastels and neutral colouring are a great way to ease into the new season. A-list stars have been spotted wearing Peached Pink & Dusty Yellow shades on the Oscars red carpet so this is a sure trend!
Backpacks are Back
LOOKING for a bag you can wear with anything? I bring good news: backpacks are back. Topshop do an incredible range with lots of variety, so for whatever occasion, you are bound to find the one for you. However, if you are looking to spend a little more Kurt Geiger designs are perfect for an evening out.
Flat Mules
While the heeled mule had its moment in 2015, this year, it’s all about the flat mule. This easy to wear slip-on style is great with cuffed or cropped jeans, and it gives off those effortlessly cool model-off-duty vibes. There is so much variety out there, I love pairs with black tassels, suede or leopard print!
