It’s that time of the year again when the steets of London turn into the world’s largest catwalk, with models and paparazzi lurking round every corner! With 4 days down its safe to say the trendsetting event of the year has certainly not disappointed. Welcoming back industry leading designers Alexander McQueen, Mulberry & Vivienne Westwood, along with upcoming stars such as Mimi Wade, we have no doubt given NYFW a run for its money. The shows that have stood out for me include David Koma, Mulberry & Topshop Unique. So if you love fashion, over the next few days I will be posting a quick and easy guide for how you can recreate some of the hottest looks from the catwalk.
The Party Girl
David Koma, a London based designer, specialises in creating body contouring statement dresses inspired by the feminine form. His collection at London fashion week 2016 showcased a tight palette of chrome, graphite, white, black and cobalt. Whilst the clothes were dripping in metal detail and flaunted sexy thigh high splits, the classic cuts screamed elegance. If you are a modern power women like his celebrity following Beyoncè, Rihanna and Kylie Minogue, then this is definitely the right look for you!
I absolutely love this All Saints Aliva embellished skirt, it’s a perfect go to piece. Style it with the Misguided tab shoulder bodysuit to get the complete David Koma look.
The collection featured a lot of eyelet metal detail which is all over the high street right now. These 3 dresses are great for bringing a little sex appeal to your classy cocktail dress. The Eyelet Mini Dress, AQAQ Climax Column Maxi Dress and Night Hardware Open Back Mini from ASOS will make you standout from the crowd.
Amongst the nutrual colourings, David brought a blue splash of colour with a high necked and asymmetrical dress. AQAQ do some really beautiful pieces like Excalibor Halterneck Mini Dress or Honor Asymmetrical Knee Length.
