NYFW is officially over! Thousands of fashion fanatics flocked to the frosty city to catch a first glimpse of trends for Autumn/Winter 2016. Legendary designers such as Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss & Diane von Furstenberg made it a year to remember by putting on extravagant shows flooded with supermodels of the moment Kendall Jenner & Gigi Hadid. If you’ve had a manic week at work and not had chance to catch up on the action from the big apple, then here’s what everyone’s been talking about!

The 70’s inspired garments continued to trend with Michael Kors featuring fringed trousers and Calvin Klein gave the classic suit a suede overhaul. However, it wasn’t all about the past, futuretisic metallics were all over the runway featuring heavily in the DVF collection.

My absolute FAVOURITE show would have to be Naeem Khan. He employed luxurious fabrics, like velvet and silk, as well as opulent decorations, such as sequin and metallic applique. Having dressed celebrities like Beyoncè, Eva Longoria and First Lady Michelle Obama, there was never any doubt that his designs would sparkle above the rest.

A nice touch was that the collection ended with 11 year old Trinity wearing a custom designed gown and fufulling her life long dream of walking the runway. Trinity is suffering from stage 3 cancer but lit up the room and made Khans show even more special, as “Fashion without purpose is only a dress”.
